Carnaroli is the most prized of Italian rices: it is no coincidence that it is defined as the "king of rices". Born in 1945 thanks to the crossing of two varieties, Vialone and Lencino, cultivated since the nineteenth century, Carnaroli is very difficult to cultivate and requires precise climatic and environmental conditions, which are typical of the Novara and Vercelli areas, but above all of Lomellina.

It is here, in fact, that the Motte Agricultural Company is located, which for over sixty years has successfully and passionately carried out the production of Carnaroli in Pavia.
