Sausage Rolls are small puff pastries filled with sausage, a British specialty popular as a snack or appetizer. Here is a simple recipe to prepare them:

Ingredients :
1 roll of puff pastry (approximately 375 g)
450 g sausages  Jimmy Dean or variety of your choice
1 egg (for gilding)
Sesame or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions :
Preheat your oven to 200°C.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to form a rectangle.
Divide the dough in half lengthwise to make two strips.
Arrange the sausages on each strip of dough, placing them along the edge.
Fold the dough over the sausages and seal the edges by pressing lightly. You can use a little water to help seal the dough.
Beat the egg and use it to generously brush the dough for a nice golden brown.
Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
Cut each roll into pieces of the size of your choice.
Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the Sausage Rolls are golden brown and cooked inside.
Let them cool a little before serving.

These Sausage Rolls can be enjoyed hot or at room temperature. They are perfect for parties, aperitifs or simply as a gourmet snack. You can also adjust the recipe by adding herbs, spices or other ingredients to the stuffing to suit your tastes.
