Apple Puff Pastry Roses

Ingredients

  • 2 red apples

  • Puff pastry

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter caramel

  • Cinnamon or Calvados syrup

  • Powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Prepare the mold
Butter a muffin tin to prevent the roses from sticking.

  3. Prepare the apples

    • Cut the apples in half and remove the seeds.

    • Slice them thinly to create flexible strips.

  4. Prepare the syrup

    • Make a light syrup with cinnamon or Calvados.

    • Poach the apple slices in the syrup to soften them.

    • Reserve the syrup for another use.

  5. Prepare the dough

    • Cut the puff pastry into strips.

    • Spread a thin layer of salted butter caramel on each strip.

  6. Assemble the roses

    • Lay the apple slices on the upper half of each strip, overlapping slightly.

    • Fold the lower half of the dough over the apples.

    • Gently roll the strip to form a rose.

  7. Bake

    • Place the roses in the muffin tin or on a baking sheet.

    • Repeat the process until all ingredients are used.

    • Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.

  8. Finishing Touch

    • Before serving, sprinkle the roses with powdered sugar for an elegant touch.

Tip
Serve your apple roses with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for an extra indulgent dessert.
